Envision Product Design:
Our Alaska-based company
designs and manufactures x-ray systems for industrial
non-destructive inspection and law enforcement/security
applications. These systems typically include mechanisms
that move or manipulate x-ray equipment and/or the items
that are inspected. Therefore, we hire employees who are
able to design and construct hybrid systems composed of
mechanical, electronics and computer technologies.
This year, we would like to
support the Alaska Science Fair by offering prizes for the
best projects in a special category called “Mechatronics.”
Robotics would typically fit into this category,
but also any other mechanism or system that integrates
mechanical, electronics, and computer components.
Envision Product Design Prizes for 2009:
"Incidentally, we really appreciate
all the work that you and all the volunteers do for the science fair
each year. We know that this experience can have a big influence in
a young person’s life. A few years ago, two girls who were mentored
at Envision went on from winning at the Alaska Science Fair to also
winning at both the Intel and Westinghouse/Siemens competitions:
